It keeps your Mac's sound and microphone on the devices you choose. You earmark a sound output and a microphone, and each works on its own:

• Sound output: whenever it's plugged in, sound goes to it. Bluetooth headphones that switch to your Mac meanwhile are disconnected, so they go back to your phone.
• Microphone: whenever it's plugged in, the mic stays on it. If Bluetooth headphones take the mic, Earmark switches it back and leaves them connected.

When an earmarked device is unplugged, Earmark leaves that role alone.

• The lines at the top show what your Mac is using now. “earmarked” means it's the device you chose.
• Earmark On turns everything on or off. Your choices are kept while it's off.
• Earmarked: under Sound Output and Microphone picks the device for each. Choose None to leave a role alone.
• Send Bluetooth Headphones Back to Phone disconnects Bluetooth headphones that switch to your Mac while your earmarked sound output is plugged in.
• Settings… explains each option and has Launch at login.

• A filled tag: an earmarked device is plugged in, and Earmark is looking after it.
• An outlined tag: Earmark is waiting for your devices.
• A tag with a slash: Earmark is off.
• A tag with an exclamation mark: something needs a look, such as Bluetooth access being off. Open the menu to see what.

Only to disconnect Bluetooth headphones from your Mac, after checking that they're headphones and not a speaker. It doesn't scan for devices or read anything from them.

If you didn't allow it, choose Open Bluetooth Settings… in Earmark's menu, or go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Bluetooth and turn on Earmark.

No. Earmark only sends Bluetooth headphones back. Speakers, microphones and car audio stay connected to your Mac, and if you switch sound to a speaker yourself, Earmark leaves it there.

Earmark only disconnects them from your Mac. Where they reconnect is up to your AirPods and iPhone; they usually go to the phone that's playing.

Also check that your earmarked sound output is plugged in, and that Send Bluetooth Headphones Back to Phone is on.

To listen on AirPods and talk into a wired mic, earmark only the microphone. The AirPods can then play your Mac's sound while the mic stays wired, which also keeps them sounding their best.

The lists only show devices you plug in. Bluetooth and AirPlay devices, your iPhone's microphone, virtual devices from apps like Teams or Zoom, and your Mac's own speakers and microphone are left out.

Earmark remembers the exact device you earmarked, not any headset. Plug in the new one and choose it under Earmarked: in the menu.

Earmark respects a device you pick yourself in Control Center or System Settings. It steps in again when your earmarked device is plugged back in, or when Bluetooth headphones connect or disconnect. To keep your own choice for a while, turn Earmark off.

只用来断开 Mac 上的蓝牙耳机，断开前会确认它是耳机而不是音箱。它不会扫描设备，也不会读取设备上的任何内容。

如果当时没有允许，可以在 Earmark 菜单里选 Open Bluetooth Settings…，或者打开 系统设置 → 隐私与安全性 → 蓝牙，把 Earmark 打开。

不会。Earmark 只把蓝牙耳机送回手机。音箱、话筒和车载音响会一直连着 Mac；你自己把声音切到音箱上，Earmark 也不会切回来。

Earmark 只负责把它从 Mac 上断开。之后连到哪里，由 AirPods 和 iPhone 自己决定，通常会回到正在播放声音的手机上。

如果想用 AirPods 听、用有线麦克风说话，就只指定麦克风。这样 AirPods 可以播放 Mac 的声音，麦克风留在有线设备上，AirPods 的音质也不会变差。

列表只显示插线的设备。蓝牙和 AirPlay 设备、iPhone 的麦克风、Teams 或 Zoom 这类软件创建的虚拟设备，以及 Mac 自带的扬声器和麦克风，都不会出现。

Earmark 记住的是你指定的那一副具体的耳机，而不是任何耳机。插上新耳机后，在菜单的 Earmarked: 里选中它就行。

你在控制中心或系统设置里自己选的设备，Earmark 会尊重。但当指定的设备重新插上，或者有蓝牙耳机连上、断开时，它会再介入一次。如果想暂时按自己的选择来，可以先关掉 Earmark。

在 Earmark 的 Settings 里打开 Launch at login。也可以在 系统设置 → 通用 → 登录项 里看到它。

先在 Earmark 的 Settings 里关掉 Launch at login，再从菜单选 Quit Earmark 退出，然后把“应用程序”里的 Earmark 拖到废纸篓。

你的设置保存在 ~/Library/Containers/com.wanqizhai.Earmark，删掉这个文件夹就清除了。
